Mexico

There is a workman’s pride that fuels spirit into the people of Mexico. Backpacking across the country will show you a beautiful culture that has held true to it's peaceful traditions and morals. As you travel, you'll notice that Mexico boats a truly unique variation of sceneries. Moving south, the transition from a dry, desert like environment to tropical jungles and rainforests, is almost instantaneous. Mexico is home to 31 UNESCO World Herritage sites!! As well as the natural richness, you'll find that Mexico is overwhelmingly rich in history. Travellers have excellent access to precolumbian ruins, which demonstrate the history and culture of some of the most celebrated ancient civilisations, like the Maya, Toltec and Aztec. Accommodation
Hostels
Hostels across Mexico can come as cheap as $150 MXN ($10 AUD) per night, and won't go much higher than $250 MXN ($19 AUD), even in Cancun. If you're hostelling about Mexico, have a long look over HostelWorldMexico. There are plenty of options. Exercise caution when booking hostels across Mexico. I would personally make sure there is evidence of operation (such as verified reviews) before booking.
Hotels
Hotels in Mexico can commonly be picked up as low as $800 - 1000 MXN per night ($60 - $76 AUD). Even if you're on a budget, I would highly recommend staying in a hotel every now and again for the traditional experience. Mexico has some beautiful old hotels in cities like Puebla, Oaxaca and San Cristobal. Try make the most of them!
